We manufacture over two-thirds of our products in our own production facilities in Europe. Our plants in Ravensburg and the Czech Republic, as well as the administrative building in Ravensburg, are powered by green electricity—partly from our own photovoltaic systems. This ensures that our products are not only durable but also manufactured responsibly. We also use rail transport, among other methods, to ship our products.
Fewer emissions, greater impactWe strive to avoid emissions across our value chain wherever possible and to continuously reduce remaining emissions through energy-efficient processes.
We partially offset unavoidable emissions through carefully selected climate protection projects with our partner
TREEO. We support certified and regularly monitored reforestation projects that benefit local communities and are documented transparently. The TREEO app enables the tracking and verification of the carbon sequestration performance of individual trees. This creates transparency regarding the development of the projects and the documented carbon storage data.
Analyzing and Reducing CO₂ EmissionsThe majority of our CO₂ emissions are not generated directly by our own operations, but rather along the upstream and downstream stages of our value chain, for example through materials, transportation, or the use of our products. These so-called Scope 3 emissions account for the largest share of our overall emissions. We are committed to reducing our Scope 3 emissions and thereby contributing to the 1.5°C target of the Paris Climate Agreement.
How we’re doing itWe avoid emissions wherever possible as a first step, for example by selecting alternative materials or implementing more efficient processes. We are increasing the share of renewable energy used in our production facilities.
Climate protection starts in everyday lifeFrom switching to renewable energy sources to expanding the availability of vegetarian and vegan meals in our cafeteria, responsible action is embedded in our everyday operations. Employees can charge their e-bikes and electric vehicles directly on site and regularly contribute new ideas and initiatives of their own. We firmly believe that climate action can only succeed through collaboration and a shared enthusiasm for positive change.
Solar power for our locations: Photovoltaics at RavensburgerRavensburger is making targeted investments in solar energy to further enhance the long-term sustainability of its sites. Since May 2024, a photovoltaic system at the company’s headquarters in Ravensburg has been generating up to 113 kilowatts of peak power. The system was installed on the concrete roof of a building with the aid of a mobile crane, while ensuring that ongoing operations were not disrupted at any time. Additional solar installations are already being planned.
We also act responsibly at our production site in Polička, Czech Republic, where plastic components for various products are manufactured. Since 2021, the site’s entire electricity demand has been covered by renewable energy sources. An on-site solar installation generates around 450 megawatt-hours of electricity annually, and further solar projects are currently in development.
ISO 50001: Managing energy systematicallyUsing energy efficiently, reducing costs, and protecting the climate is not only better for the environment but also represents a sustainable company. That is why, in 2025, we introduced an energy management system in accordance with DIN EN ISO 50001, the international standard for systematic energy efficiency.
